WEEKLY MEETING AT OT^KI Evening sports in connection with uhe Ooaki A.A. and C, Ciub were held on the domain on Wednesday, wnen, desploe • the^ uniavouraoie woacner, there was a splendid attenuance. * The various evenrs were well contested, and arrangements most satisfactorily carried out. The track was in perfect ai.aer, tnahks to the rain and roiiing while the newly-erected fence was a pleasing adjunct. The Otaki Brass Band again rendered selecrions which were' fully appreciated. Results were:—' Half - mile eycle. — Blomfield (scr.) 1, Mathie (25 yds) 2, Hurley (35 yds) 3. Jones (15 yds) also started. The limit men -made the pace, but were soon overhauled by Blomfield, with Hurley and Mathrc on ■ his wheel. In the home run; however, Blomfield won- comfortably,- Mathie and Hurley racing together for second placp. Open 100 yds).— Gordon (scr.) 1, Mudge (8 yds) 2, Mudgway (8 yds) 3. There were frve starters and the ra'ce was interesting, being won by inches.
Half -mile junior cyele.— Wilton (3 0^ yds) 1, Street (scr.) 2, Brooki (45 yds.) 3. This was a good race, although Wilton came away at the finish' to win .easily. It was a clpst go between second and third, very little separating the two riders. • Boys' 100 yards.— Mudgway GO yds) 1, Hakaraia (scr.) 2, Mudge (2 yds) 3._, Five starters. Won nicely by three yards, with a gooc finish between second and third. One mile cycle.— Blomfield (scr.) 1, Mudgway (100 yds') 2. Alsr started: Milroy (125), Jones (75), Mathie (75) and Hurley (85). The two placed men were the only onef to finish. Milroy led for the fivst lap, making a gap of thirty yards, but later retired. Mudgway then took command. with Blomfield and Hurley following. In the final lap Mudgway had a break of ten yards on Blomfield, but the latter came away to win by a length. Junior cycle. three- laps.— Smith (20 yds) 1, Guthrie (125 yds) 2. Wilton (35 yds) 3. Also started: Brooks (75), Walsh (50), Street (scr.) and Snowden 125. From the st&rt Guthrie. Snowden and Smith led the field, but in the home stretch Smith came away to win by two lengths, with half a wheel separating second and third. Opcn 120 yards.— Mudgway 1, Mudge 2. Five starters and a good race. ; -

It was deeided to wrife to the •secretary of the Marching Association, thanking him and the young ladies who had .eiven such a fi-,Q display of -marching in Otaki, and to assure' thnn t.hat the vrp was fully appreciated.
