Received Priday, 11 a.m. LONDON, Dec. 12. More than 300 Russian fishermen have been saved from ice-bound fishing boats in the Caspian Sea in a remarkable mass rescue campaign, says the Associated Press' Moscow correspondent. The boats were trappe'd late in NoVember, when, after one of the worst hurricanes 011 record, the • shallow Caspian Sea froze over. Planes flew through gales and fog to drop supplies, and then guided 287 men in a trek over many miles of snow and ice to safety. Planes later guided to port the boats which broke free. Several larger boats which sank after being squeezed in the ice were refloated, and a large refrigeration ship salvaged. The loss of the fleet would have been a major tragedy. It is r'esponsible for a large part of Russia's big fish catch.
