MEETING OF COMMITTEE
With a small sum still to come to band, the Levin Plunket Society bas received £233 as a result of its annual collection. This was reported to the eommittee's final meeting for 1946, which was held recently. The treasurer (Mrs. A. D. Sutton) was accorded a special vote of thanks in this connection. The president (Mrs. L. J. Hunter) gave an interesting account of the general conference, which she had attended in Wellington during November. Arrangements were discussed for the Karitane appeal shop day, which is to take place in February. It was decided to spend some money 'nanded in by two committee members on material to be made into ^,aleabie goods. Produce and goods have also been promised by the Manakau sub-branch, and altogether it is expected that the stalls will be very attractive and well stocked. A sumptuous afternoon tea was pfovi'ded' bytWb '6'f the' 'committee members to mark the conclusion of the year.
