SYDNEY FACES CUTS IN TRAM SERVICES

Trainless Sundays, a general rednction of wcekday services and the eliinination of sporting special services, were recommended today to the Boad Transport ('ommissioner (Mr. Neale; bv Tram and Bus Fnion otlicials, to cope with the staff .crisis in the service. Alr. Neale told the Union ofticials yesterday that drastic reductions in the Svdney services would be made from Januaiv 1 unless 500 recruits were olitained witliin' the next three weyks. At the resumed diseussions today ottici'als inf'ornied ALr. Neale that there was no hope -of obtaining rec'ruits -and that the unions would not agree to any reduction of the tram waymen 's holidays to stave off restrictions.
