In regard to the top-dressing of the-oval, Mr. Kflsby stated that as yet there had been no supplies of manure available, but as soon as it bame to hand it would be distributed. Mr. C. E. C. Webb said that the Ayshire Club sought permission to' prepare its own show [ring in the oval. Mr. F. O. Malcolm then put forward the suggestion that the judging rings should be drawn for where there was any [marked differeiice in -construction or suitability. • N Mr. G. W. Munford spoke 011 the necessity of educa.ing the general public in the methads of judging stock, and predict^d that if such were possible a much greater interest would be shown at the various shows. The question of the method of educating was discussed, and the chairman' finally asked Mr. Munford if he would draft out a >uitable programme and either post it or present it to the next meeting. The Ayrshire Breeders' Club suggested that Mr. Bremei% should be asked to bring an associate judge with him on the stipulation that he paid his own expenses. This was discussed, but finally left to the eattle committee to decide. | Mr, Kilsby then spoke on the peed for sub-committees to controi various aspects of the forthcoming show and as a result the following [were appointed : — Aclvertising: iMessrs. A. iKilsby; Greenfeed: Messrs. H. J. [Lancaster, S. B. Mexted and P. R. [Catley; machines for milking: Messrs. C. E, C. Webb, C. H. Arcus land A. M, Scott; sheep dog trials: [Mr. J. H. Mungavin; pig feed: |Messrs. B. R. Robinson and C. E. C. [Webb. | In connection with bedding, the [chairman reported that there was |still a good deal of straw in hand, |and an offer by Mr. Adkin of a part |stack of straw -was accepted, The appointment of stewards" was jieft over until the next meeting. It |was also hoped to enlist the aid of |jl6 members of the Young Far.eer;' IClub as associate stewards and, if possible, some members of the town [committee. The Ayrshire Breeders' Club loffered the use of a blackboard and a steward for the purpose of writing the names of winners at the show. This offer was gratefully accepted. Mr. Moynihan said he had contacted the Palmerston North people regarding their sideshow space and |i uiie method adopted there was that . -he se'cretary of the show informed | thq Showmen's Guild secr-etary that he required a certain sum for the trent of the whole of the available ground. The guild secretary then arranged the cost between the various sideshows. This system seemed to have the general favour of the meeting, and it was thought worth adopting at Ihe coming show.
