Breen, former Labour member for the electorate of Ualare, who was defeated at tlie last election, has oeen appointed Australian Trade Uoutinissiouer in the Aliddle East. This, says the Wydney Sun 's c'orres})ondent, makes tlie iiftli J.abnur ineinber of the last Parliament to receive an appoint.nent in tlie Governinent service. 'J'lie lefeated Alinister for Repatriation, Arr. Frost, of Tasmania, and Afr. A. E. ■Jmith, of South Australia, are the only two defeated Labour niembers for whom jobs have not been found by tlie Uomnionwealth. Previous appointments are ATr. F. AL Forde (former Army A[inister), Australian High Commissioner in Canada; Afr. I). Arountjoy, director of the Council for ■8cienti(ic and Industrial Research; Air. G. Afartens, Director for the Ahiminium t 'ommission ; and Air. -W Bryson, seeretary to the new Alinister for Army.
