The executive tonight decided to suggest to the Xorth island Alotor Union that the Alinister of Justiee be approached to have the law amended to this eff'eet. The executive had received lettcra about the treatment of sucli cases from the Canterbury, Afarlborough, Otago • and North Otago Autornobile Associations. The Commissioner of Police, ATr. ,T. Cummings, in a letter, advised that his district officers had been tohi to press for more severe penaities iu ear couversiou cases.
