"4X* WERAROA EASILY BEAT LEVIN -Weraroa soundly defeafed Levin jn Saturday in the Hall Shiela .ohipetition. Weraroa batted firsi and compiled the comfortable totai of 154 runs, De Castro (53) and Hudson (35) being the principle contributors. Meddings took two wickets at a low cost. Levin replied n their first innings with 51 runs, Easton being the only run-getter with 21. Gurney took five wipkets for 16 and'De Castro four for 21. In their second innings Levin had made 70 runs for the loss of five wickets when the game was finished. Fletcher with 18 not out was the top scorer. McDonald capuured three wickets for 22 runs. College A Trounce Otaki B In the College A-^-Otaki B game, played at Otaki, College A deieaceu Jie Otaki team by an innings and 9 runs. Otaki batted first, making 57 runs. Shernack reached top.score with 25. Bowling for College, McClune took five wickets for 10 runs and McFarlane four for 15. College went in to make 126, Gwynn retiring with 30. Stackhouse was he most prominent Otaki bowler, taking four for 25. In their second innings Otaki ,ecured 60 despite the deadly bowlng of 'their opponents. Arnold's ■-atting looked promising, but he was bowled by Hudson for a modest 17. Hudson (College) took four for 23, Lambert three for 15 and Dumbell three for 18. Otaki A's Clear-cut Win Otaki A had a clear-cut win over College B, defeating them by an innings and 58 runs. Batting first, College built up a mtal of 42 runs, Judd securing 14 of these. Bowling for Otaki, Heatherwick took eight wickets for 18 runs. Otaki replied with a total of 162, Garlick retiring with 60 to his credit. Hamilton (College) took four for 55. In their second ' innings, College added a further 66 runs to their total, Gardiner retiring with 17. Bryant (Otaki) took three for eight. Nine Wicket Win Old Boys had a comfortable nine wicket win over Shannon A on the Levin Domain. Otaki went to the wicket first and made a total of 68 runs, Roach (25) making the most useful knock. Bowling for Old Boys, V. Lynch took six for 23 and Judd three for 19. Old Boys batted well and declared at 147 for nine wickets, Judd contributing 60, A. Walker and Lancaster 24. Satherley took seven wickets for 26 runs. Shannon compiled 86 in their' second innings, Tippler being the top scorer with 23. Lynch again bowled well to take six for 24. Old Boys declared in their second innings with one wicket down for 12 runs. Roach took the only wicket.
