SHANNON DEFEAT FOXTON In the competition tennis match played between Shannon and Foxton B grade teams at Shannon on Saturday afternoon, the home team was suecessful ' in winning the match by 14 sets tp 2. Total games were Shannon 120 and Foxton 70. ! Results of the games were as follows, Shannon players being mentioned first: — Men's singles : K. Batt defeated T. ©ouds, K. Thomson defeated S. F. Morris, C. Booker lost to A. Anderson, A. Peni defeated D. Lay. Ladies' singles: Miss K. Nepia 'defeated Miss J. Forbes, Mrs. S. L. j Graham defeated Mrs. T. Crotty, -Mrs. L. Higgott defeated Miss E. There was a g gatherihg on the courts. A most enjoyable afternoon was spent, although light rain at about 4 p.m interrupted play. The next in this series will be played on Thursday afternoon, when it is hoped that better weather conditions will prevail. A full muster of lady members is requested. | On Sunday afternoon a usual iclub day was spent on the courts ! and many members took the qpportunity of spending the delightful sunny afternoon there. Junior members are reminiec that their subscriptions are nov due and must be paid beforc December 20.
