Personal , , Miss Shirley Sunley was a -local visitor to Wellington for -the weekend. • . The friends of Mrs. A. F. Birss, of Sheehan Street, will regret to learn that she suffered a painful accident on Friday evening, when she slipped and badly sprsfined her ankle. After receiving medical attention, Mrs. Birss was sent to the Palmerston North Hospital for an x-ray. « Beaches Proving Popular Many locai residents took the opportunity of spending the weekend at the sea'side, Foxton, Waitarere and Paraparaumu beaches proving popular resorts. Suecessful Dance The Moutoa Junior Social Club held a very suecessful dance in the Moutoa Hall on Thursday evening. Dancing was enjoyed until an early hour to the music of Roy Lester's orchestra. Visitors were present from Levin and Palmerston North, as well as the well-filled buses which carried patrons from Shannon and Foxton. Competition dances were held and the winners were Miss L. Robinson and Mr. R. Bang, and Mr. Munford and partner. A most enjoyable supper was provided by the ladies of Moutoa.
