Following discussions between the lirectors of the Norfolk Cooperative Dairy Cov., Alotumaoho, and the Morrinsville Cooperative Cov., for a merger of the .respecti ve interests, the iiureiiase of the Norfolk company as a part of a major expansion plan was decided 011 by the Alorrinsville (lirec-

Tlit plan embodies the establislnnent of a buttermilk drying plant at Morrinsville and tlie conversi'on of buttermilk formerly used for pig feeding into high-elass powdered milk products which will be exported to the Fnited Kingdom to assist in alleviating tlie serious food shortages there. It is expected that the linancial re sults whieh wiU be achieved by the processing of milk' in this wav will subhtantially add to tlie monev avaiiable for distribution to shareholders. The plant, which will cost about £12,500, is exjmcted to be in operation early in the I947-4S daivying seasou.
