AUCKLAND, Dec. 5. The highest price ever paid in New Zealand i'or grapes was ohtained at the Auckland city marke'ts this morning when four one pound bunches grown by Mrs. D. Nichols, of Otahuhu, brought 17s per pound. This breaks the record set up in August of this year when three 1211b. cases grown at Mangere "brought 16s per pound in the markets. Another buhch of grapes brown hy Mr. E. J. Knight, | of Mangere, sold today for 16s per pound. A city shop Which bought Mrs. Nichols' grapes Was selling them at 19s per bunch. 'Only one bunch had heen sold tonight. . When grapes are 'in season 3s per ■ pound is a-good price.
