HAMILTON, Dee. 3. With the number of absentee and postal votes in the Raglan electorate now in excess of 900, the tinal count for this .-electorate is awaite-d with keenest interest. Today the returning officer and stafl: hope to complete the task of scrutinising the rolls and tlien they will open and cheek the declaration and postal votes. When this is completed the tinal count will be undertaken. ®n present indic-ations it is hoped that tinal figuros will be available on Fridav. With a margin of the Labour candidate, Mr. Baxter, on the provisional eount, of a bare 45, the tinal figures for Raglan, are aivaited eagerly not only throughout. Waikato but also throughout the Dominion. This figure of over 900 is 300 in excess of the number of declaration and postal votes in the last election and also the bv-election. For Hamilton citv seat, where the margin in favour of the National candidate, Mrs. Hi,lda Ross, is 209, there is also considerable interest in the tinal re-eheeked figures as there are an additional 1318 votes to be taken into consideration.
