The committee by 2-1 votes to 19 over-j ruled tlie youth At'rican contenlion that the question was of purely domcslic concer-n aud therefore did not come witliin the United Xations' jurisdiction. The committee adopted a resolution submittod by Frauce. .and .JHexico declariug that tlie treatmeut of Indians L in youth Africa should be "in conformity with international obligations' under agreements between two countries" and askjng the two Governmcnts ,to report to the next As,senibty session on tlie measures taken to compose thc differeuces. The vote was only taken after Lndia witluirqw her original resolution which would have been tantamount to a United Nations condemnation of South Africa.
