SOLO FLIGHT TO AUSTRALIA
Received Monday. 12.15 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 1. The first solo flight to Australia since the war began at Iymne this morning when the Australian, Group Captain Bandit, took off in a Miles Gemini aircraft. Group Captain Bandit hopes to organise an Everest expedition for 1948. He will stop in India en route to Australia to ask permission for the party, which is being financed by an anonymous Scot, to enter Tibet.
