TRANSPORT MATTERS
FURTHER LICENSE GRANTED A short sittiijg of the Transport Licensing Authority was held at the Otaki courthouse yesterday when an application for a renewal of a goods servic.e license by Victor Morgan was granted. An additional vehicle authority within ten miles of the Otaki Post Office was also granted. Mr. J. P. O. Skoglund, chairman of No. 2 Transport Licensing Authority, Wellington, presided, while Mr. J. Cameron, Rehabilitacion Departmfent representative, Wellington, was also present. Mr. Atmore appeared for Mr. Morgan and explained the position briefiy in connection with the renewal - of license, which was granted, there being no objection. Mr. Atmore stated the reasons for an additional truck being wanted, pointing out that Morgan had much carting to do, including produce, manures, cheese, milk, etc. He also carted bobby calves and this season expected his number to reach 4000. Morgan in support of the application corroborated the statements by vir. Atmore, adding that the work at present entailed long hours and was a necessity. J. Ballinger spoke in support of the application, and as there were no objections it was granted.
