Messrs. Townsend and Paul, Ltd., fruit and produce merchants, Weilington, report that supplics of iherries are now coming forward more freely, values remaining extremely Jtirm for quality lines. Plums c.ontinue to meet with a ready sale, while hothouse tomatoes, tree tomatoes and loquats have all been placed to advantage. Supplies of citrus have been exceptionally meagre, ceiling price being readily obtainable. Flower auctions have again commanded keen attention, all seasonal bloofns selling readily. Popular varietles are carnations. ranunculi, stock and gladioli. Limited supplies of most varieties of vegetables have been offering, green varieties being particulariy scarce. Beetroot and beans have sold readily, while cauliflowers, peas and pumpkins have all been placed to advantage. As is seasonal, smaller yardings of poultry have been offered and consequently values for prime birds have been maintained.
