It is a small 201b projeetor which throws the image Of a book page on the ceiliug. Psing it, patients wlio are forced to lie flat on their backs can read com fortably. JSeveral of these projeetor, s are being installed in a military liospital at Ottawa, and veterans there declare tlieni an. unqualilied suceess. The projeetor may be placed beside Ihe bed of the patient, or even on it, and is designed so tliat its projected image approximates tlie same ocular angle as the pages of a book held at average reading distance from the eye. It uses rolls of microlirm 011 wliich books and lnagazincs have beeii photo graplied. The process of exposing the lilni is similar to tliat used in preparing V-inail during the war, but it is said to be the lirst occasion of the niethod being put to use to bring current material to the sick.
