A spokesntan said ihe (iernians were Fritz Wiedemann, tlien ( 'onsul-Genefal at San Francisi'o, and Hennann Schwinn, who was an aclive niember of Ihe GermanA irifjican luind and later deported to ■Germany as a dangerous alien. The two (iprmans, it is alleged, met at San Fraiicisco in May, 1939, and discussed an assassiuation plan but no attempt was niado lo carry out the plot.
