Waiopehu Track Completed "The Waiopehu Track is again open, a new hut has been plann'ed and the site and foundations have been prepared," said the president, Mr. N. M. Thomson, at the monthly? meeting of the Levin — Waiopehu Tramping Club last evening. it will be recalled that the track -was devastated and the hut destroyed by the gale which swept the Tararuas in February, 1935. Mr. Thomson said that all the club's en'efgies should now be devoted to pushing ahead with the erection of the hut. Trips for this purpose were arranged for December 1 and 15, cars leaving the post office at 6.30 and 8 a.m., while some members indicated that they would be spending the whole of these weekends on the job. Trattiping Popular The remafkable growth which the Levin-Waiopehu Tramping Club has made since its revival after a war recess was referred to at its monthly meeting last evehing by the president, Mr. N. M. Thomson. He said that in March last the first meeting had been held, with the somewhat disappointing attendance of 13. Since then it had grown in popularity until today the membership was 84.; Outings had been quite well attended, while the innovation of monthly meetings, at which all members had an opportunity to discuss the club's business instead of leaving it to be.dealt with by a small committee, had been attended by between 30 and 40 members and had given a social side to the club's activities. The late Dr. Richardson, "whose dream (it didn't come true!) it was to found a sor't 'of "City of health"in England, was "no smoker, and disapproved of tobacco, yet he' admitted (like -Huxley) that it was, "no worse than tea." It's purity that couhts in both easbs. Depend upon it, the fapious "toasted" tobaccos, Cut Plug No. 1!0 (Bullshead) , Navy Cut No. 3 (Bblldog) , Cavendish, Riverhead Gold, Desert Gold alid Pocket Edition, Woh't' harm anyone. They owe their great popularity to (1) their uniform splendid quality; (2) expfert manufacture and skilful blending; •and (3) the toast'ing of the leaf which make them what they are — ' •the finest and least harhiful of all tobaccos. The evei"-growing de-' mand for them is proof positive of ; their outstanding merit. But in' order to avoid Worthless imitations •buyers should insist on having the brands alre'ady enumerated.
