DELIGHTFUL SURPRISE PARTY
OLD IDENTITY HONOURED Many local friends gathered at the home of Mrs. A. Secord, of Grey Street, last week for a delightful surprise party on the occasion of her birthday. Mrs. Secord is an oid identity of Shannon, and although many of lier old friends are awav from the town a number made the -rip to Shannon for the occasion The beautifully iced birthday cake, which was the gift of her daughter from Palmerston North. was cut with the usual honours and a m ost enjoyable afternoon tea was served. A pleasant time was enjoysd by allt present in chatting over ild times. A number of musical items were given by visitors.
