THE STATE OR HUMANITY?
"NF.WHOMER "
Sir, — As a newcomer to New Zealand I have been amazed to hote that most of the Labour Party members speaking over the radio have strong provineial English and Scottish accents. ' I am told that they came from Australia, but quite obviously they are not New Zealahders. Can it be that they were misflts at Home, travelled to Australia and then for some reason came here with their polipy of discontent and class warfare? Obviously they. should now continue their migration to their spiritualhome — Russia. Good can never come out of evil, neither can you benefit man by hating 50 per cent of humanity. This enthusiasm for secondary industries is not to help New Zealand, but, by turning many of her hitherto independent workers into mere factory hands, acquire more powers in the game of forming a totalitarian state — under foreign rule. The Labour Party continually asks us to turn our thoughts back to 1935. This is an admirable idea, only I would suggest that we look to Germany and consider what a one party state managed to do in "a few years to wreck human happiness. To destroy man in order that the state may survive is an ancient. ideology. but of very doubtful value. Yours. etc..
