WELLINGTON CENTRE MEETS
The Wellington Bowling Centre held its monthly meeting recently The NaeNae Club applied for permission for players to play in pennant games in grey flannels. After a full discussion it was decided tha,t: , players must make every effort to
procure bowlihg costume. It was decided that a bowler who had played bowls for one year oniy as a member of a club, and had then proceeded on active service oversea's, might be considered as a junior player for a second year on his return. The president of the N.2.B.A., Mr. Lock, thanked the clubs in the centre for their fine support of the Dominion tournament,. all of whom were represented in the entrants. The N.Z.B.A. forwarded a letter for consideration in connection with a proposed conference of greenkeepers and green superintendents at the green research area in Palmerston North. The letter created a full discussion, it being pointed out that the clubs within the centre would be well served if the services of Mr. Horton could be extended over a longer period during his visits. The matter was left over for further conuderation' at a later date. The president reported that he had interviewed Ihe Commissioher of Police regarding the report of damage to the greens. and had been well received, the commlsstating that every possible actlon would be taken to detect the offehders.
