Personal Mr. and Mrs. North and daughter, of Khandallah, were among ihe visitors to Otaki yesterday. Mrs. Wallace D'Ath and her small son have returned from New Plymouth. Mrs. Brewster, .of the Wairarapa, has been spending a holiday in Otaki. Mrs. Marshall, of Hill Street, Wellington, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. V. Cahill. Mrs. Curtis, of Wairoa, who has been on a visit to Otaki, returned home today, accompanied by her daughter, Miss Dawn Curtis. The death occurred yesterday at Otaki of Captain Roland Egerton Bennett, M.C., son of the late Dr. Bennett, of Bulls. The funeral takes place tomorrow at the Karori Crematorium. Mr. and Mrs. Gower, who have been residents of Otaki for the past six years, leave today to take up residence in Levin. They will carry with them the best wishes of many friends. Another delightful farewell party was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Stewart, "Pukehou," when Mr. and Mrs. Berry were cntertained prior to leaving for their new home in Waipukurau. IVfr. L, G. "Lowry, who has been under treatment in Rotorua, returned' to Otaki on Saturday, accompanied by Mrs. Lowry. Although nol fully. recovered, Mr. Lowry is improved, but it will be sorae time before he makes a completc reeovery. Mr. Lowry will indulge in a rest 111 Wellington. Baud Plays Out The mumbers of the Otaki Brass Band on Saturday night eillivened proceedings in the town by providing many choice selections. It was gratifying to see so many members taking part, and also the number of young players who have joined, and who are making good progress. The new uniforms were most favourably' commented on.
