COMBINED SCHOOLS' FESTIVAL

PRESENTATION TO CONDUCTOR On Monday night at the Shannon School, a meeting of teachers connected with the combined schools' music festival was held. The opportunity was taken to make a small presentation to Mr. T. E. Douds, the conductor of the festival. Mr. W. Dickinson (headmaster) expressed aT)'preclation of the work done by Mr. -Douds, and presentecl him with a conductor's baton, stressing the point that it was Mr. Douds' keeness and ability that had made the . festival possible. Mr. Morris supported Mr. Dickinson 's remarks, and, Mr. Douds suitably replied. The general feeling was that the effort had been well worthwhile and should be an annual event.
