Pcrson3il * Mr. and- Mrs.iR. J. Law left a few days ago for Christchurch, where they are to spend a two weeks' holiday. • The many/frjends of Mr. J. A. Roach were very pleased to see him about the town .'for a while yestei> day morning. .He is looking very well and- has almost recovered from his recent long illness, and hopes to be taking an active interest in the affairs of the town again in the very near future. Deer Stalking Popular A number of locai young men spent the weekend in the hills behind Shannon on a deer stalking expedition. A very successful time was spent and some good results achieved. Euchrc Winncrs There was the usual good attendance at the euchre tournament held in Laurvig's Hall on Friday evening by the local branch of the Labour Party.- Pri'ze winners were Miss Sinclair and Mr. A. McLaggan.
