Received Monday, 7.0 p.m. LONLON, Nov. 18. The use of hypodcrmic syringes to ipray horses with acid is suspected in 50Yerul recent cuses of alleged "nobbliug". The Jockey Club committee is it preseut invesLigating a serius of .'o/upluinls, and it is roported that irrefutablo e\ idcnce of interference has been obtained. At least in three cases after horses liuve failed to run to form, red inflamed spots have been discovered on their liindquarters and tliese later developed iuto sores. It is believed that the acid ls sprayed from distances up to twenty feet by means of a special type of syringe which can be concealed iii the pocket.
