DISCUSSION BY COUNCIL The constructioir *of the new Rangiuru Briage was dealt with by the district engineer of the Public Works Department in a letter received at a meeting of the Otaki Borough Council this v/eek. It sald that owing to pressure of work the department was unable at presmt to suggest the most suitable type of structure, and rccommended that the services of a consulting engineer be obtained. Cr. Cook suggested that the mat,er be given fur.ther consideration,

pointing out that the plan submitted could be revised. ' Cr. Hakaraia stated that the late ,overseer, Mr. McMillan, had submitted plans which he thought •quite suitable. It was decided to ask the department to give further consideration to the matter, and to point out that t, two-way bridge was necessary.
