WELLIXGTOX, Nov. 15 dieaper air mail rates to America will come into force next week. Arrangements have been made for mails from New Zealand to lie carried there by the new Sydney-Yancouver service of British Commonwealth 1'acific Airlines. Tlie rate on the British service will be 2s 6d per half ounce to Canada and United States against 4s on tlie Pan-Amcrican service. The cheaper alternative was announced today by the Postniaster-General, Hon. P. Webbj who said an agreement liad been reached, on the forwarding of airmails frbni New Zealand to North, Central and South America by tlie fort night ly interini air service between Sydney and Vancouver by Australian Xational Airways on behalf of Biatish* Commonwealth Paeitie. Airlines. As the service did not touch Xew Zealand, the connection in tlie meantme would be either at Sydney or Fiji. The British or American service could be used according to the route desired.
