LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

NOVEMBER MEETING The November meeting of the League of Mothers was held lecenay, when Mrs. C. Nichol presided and welcomed members and visitors. A special welcome was extehded to Mrs. Hall, a member from the Lower Hutt branch, who nas come to reside in Levin. A motion of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the late Mrs. A. T. Ransom, and also with those of the late Mrs. Gray. Fitting tributes -were paid to the untiring and devoted work of Mrs. Ransom, who at the time of her death was secretary of the league. Mrs. Mercer was elected to fill the vagpncy. The speaker for the afternoon was Mrs. L. P. Griffith, who Spoke of the rationing in England and also gave an interesting account .of her personal experiences in wartime Britain. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded her, and she was presented with a spray of roses.
