AUXILIARY AIR FORCE URGED

-Press Association

By Telearctvh—

AUCKLAND, Xov. 13. A move is being made toward the establishment of auxiliary sqnailrons oi ihe il.N.Z.A.F. The Auckland branch' of the Air Force Association will ap [iroach ihe Minister of Defence for perrnission to establish auxiliary squadrons from each branch Air Force Association. The reasons for the move are Ihe importance of auxiliary squadrons in defence, the preventing of wastage of surplus aircraft in the Dominion, and the proper exploitation of the experi ence of war-flying personnel now posted to the reserve. It is proposed that the' entire organisation be known as the R.N.Z.A.F. Auxiliary and be under the jurisdiction of the Air Department, Wellington. The squadrons would be known by a serial number followed by the name of the city, town or district coneerncd. The Auckland Air Force Association considers the present svs tem of private control of flying too costly for the majorit.v of reservists.
