BRISK SALE IN LEVIN
VALUES FOR PIGS AND FAT CATTLE RISE ' There was a smaller yarding of fat sheep than usual at yesteraay's weekly stock sale in Levin, while stores were in short supply. The fat cattle entry was good, but stores were yarded in numbers below the -demand. Pigs came forward in large numbers. A brisk •;ale was experienced, with values for pigs. and fat cattle showing a olight increase. Fat slieep brought rates on a par with late market values. Following is a range of prices: — ! Sheep: Light fat woolly ewes, 28s ro 29s 4d; medium, 31s 7d to 32s 10d; prime heavy, 34s lOd; light fat shorn wethers, 3"ls 6d; medium, 32s 7d; prime heavy, 33s lOd; medium shorn ewes, 20s 3d to 20s lOd; light fat lambs, 25s 4d to 26s- 3d; medium. 28s to 28s 7d; prirpe heavy, 29s lOd to 30s lOd; light shorn fat hoggets, 24s to 25s ld; heavy, 28s to 29s 4d; store woolly b.f. hoggets, 29s ld; store shorn ewes, 17s 4d.
