Munford, of Pretoria Road, added further credit to his hock at the Palmerston North show jver the' weekend. Mr. Munford jbtained first prize with two ewes under eighteen months, a second prize with an ewe over thirty months with lamb at foot, a third prize with a ewe and lamb and was i/ery highly commended for a ram over eighceen months and under ihirty months. A Quiet Weekend v With the number of outside attractions on over the past few days, Shannon had another - very quiet weekend. On Saturday morn- ■ ,ng the streets were almost desert^a. The Levin Racing Club's fixture, which is always a popular iunction for local enthusiasts, attracted many followers. The Palmerston North show also drew its quota away from town. Sporting activities were almost at a standstill on Saturday afternpon, only a icw visiting the bowling greens and mnnis courts. Sunday saw a few more people about, and the attendance on the fields of sport was mmewhat lareer than exnected.
