The Government lias promised, amoiig other things, that all Garratt engines shall be ke]it out of (h'e service until the arrival of an indepehdent ohgincer from Now South Wales. With a representative df the union and Government, this man eould dccide whieh of the Garratt s eould safely he returneJ to traffie pendiug the carrying out of major alterations and adjustments.
