CRICKET IN OTAKI

The Otaki Cricket Club's A and B teams met in a match on Saturday at the domain, the wicket being in good condition. The A team won fairly easily, though at one stage it appeared that the position would be reversed. The B team batted first and made a total of 54 runs, Tahiwi (22) and E. Bartosh (12) being the only double-figure scorers. In the bowling Heatherwick took four wickets for six and Morton three for 16. The A's made 7 1 runs of which Garrity contributed 38. Stackhouse took four wickets at a low cost. In the second innings the B team hit up a total of 42 runs, Stevens being top scorer with 15. J. Bartosh took three wickets for three runs. The A team went back to the wicket for a second innings, and at the end of time had made 57 for the loss of six wickets, Flutey making 14 and Morton 12. Stevens took two for 12.
