INTER-COLLEGE CRICKET

HOROWHENUA UNLUCKY The annuai cricket . match between Horowhenua College and Dannevirke High School, which was played recently, had to be abandoned due to heavy rain when Horowhenua were in an unbeatable position. Dannevirke batted first and w.ere dismissed for the unusually poor * total of 52, Lowes (11) and Hyett (10) being the only players to reach double figures. The fielding of ; the Horowhenua team was exceptionally good and this, combined with the accurate bowling of Hudson, who took four wickets for seven runs, and McClune, four for 13, .led to the downfall of the Dannevirke eleven which has nev'er been. beaten at cricket by Horowhenua College yet. Horowhenua had made a total of 69 runs for the loss of only four wickets, when the game had to be abandoned. McClune (37) and Sciascia (11) were the main coritributors. Moore took Horowhenua's four wickets for 23 runs.
