APPEAL FOR WOOL
FARMERS ASKED TO HELP PEOPLE OF GREECE " Appreciation of the action of the„ farming community of New Zealand, in recently making available six tons of wool, for distribution among the people' of Greece, is contained in. a letter received by CORSO headquarters in Wellington. The letter stated' that beCause it was a gift, the wool did not go through the hands of the Grieek Government for sale, but was sent to Kavalla, where the New Zealand CORSO welfare team is operating. It is the intention of the team to distribute the wool among small villages, where it will be woven into cloth by the women of the community and distributed to .the homes to be placed to the best .use. The wool is vital to the people, especially during the winter months,. when they are exposed to the dangers of frostbite. • In view of this, CORSO is asking for further donations from farmers in New Zealand, and this wool .will be dispatched as early as possible in order to ensure delivery before Christmas. Farmers intendihg to ^ donate a fleece or fleeces, are requested to hand them to Mr. S. Small, of Abraham and Williams, Ltd., Levin, who will supervise the packing and dispatchihg of the • wool to CORSO headquarters. .
