Eeceived Wednesdav, S.20 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 6. The Government 's plans for continued conscription were coklly received bolh by the Parliamentary Labour Party and T.U.O. General Council, says the Times Labour correst>or,dent and indeed it is liard to expect thev would be welcomecl liowever elearly their necessity was realised. Opposition to consiription is a principle having very doep roots in the Labour movement and the T.TT.C. always made ifc eiear it accepted the continuatiou of conscription •only as a temporary measure. Trade ITnion leaders, the correspondent adds, will doubtless continue to be realistic in i Ihe new eireumstances but they are likelv to seek certain assurances as a condition of acceptance and there will certainly be a section of the Labour movement whieh will oppose continuecl conscription in auy circumstaneees
