Showers during the morning made conditions unfavourable for the semifinal trials for Levin-engaged liorses at Awapuni yesterday, ahd the goi'ng on the No. 1 grass track became increasingly slower as opefations progressed. Candidates for the principal event on Saturday, Saludos (Sellars) and Broielield (Buchaiian) had the assistance of Langxxe d'Or (Harris) -over a mile in 1.53 2-5. Although Langue d'Or tailed off early, he iinished well to be on terins with hxs compauions at the end, the last three furlongs being tirned in 43sec. Prince Wanaka (Broughton) and Iniperial (Collins) took 1.5(3 for theix' mile, tk'e last three furlongs requiring 4fisec. lmperial impressed more> and after his form at the Wellington meeting is sure to be iix favour at Levin. The best mile went to the credit of Dileas (Harris) and Hakim (Bowness), wko recorded 1.52 after running the Iirst three furlongs in 39sec. Botb? relished the going, aud it is the intention to prepare Hakim for the New Zeaiand Cup. Indira (Baiu), who made a creditable showiug at Bulls last week, hit out freely over five furlongs in 1.7. fribute and Een registered 1.(3 2-5. The latter shows undoubted speed for a uovice and may show up in forthcoming engagements. The two-year-old Petre Mar (Rout), who looks well after a brief let-up, reeled oif three furlongs snlartly -in 39s6c. Golden Casket (Sellars) was niore impressive than Commercial i^Boreham) over five furlongs in 1.8 4-5. Argumentative (Saunders) and Balcairn (Aitken) were paired over six furlongs in 1.21, a fair elfort. Sprint by Flying Orders Glen Erquiiart (Christensen) xva3 not troubied to riin half a mile in 55sec. Agakoti (Broughton) reeled off tliree xurlongs in 39 2*5sec., and did it well. Cinerous (Boxvness) eame honie the last three furlongs of lii3 work in 47sec. i'he novices "Reality (Aitken), Corolac (Broughton) and Luoy Bian (Christensen) were companxons over three furlongs in 44sec. Elying Orders dispiayed his usual speed xvhile covering five furlongs in 1.7 2-5. \ oltaic (Bowness), whose form ean be discounted at Bulls, was uuder a good koid while riimiing five furlongs in* 1.19. Dickens (Boreham) required 1.19 2-5. Blank (Jheque (Ewan) sprinted three furlongs in 42sec„, looking all the better for hxs recent outing. Grand A'ffair (Broughton) strode over five furlongs in 1.14 1-5. Gay Stroller (Broughton) recorded 1.9 4-5. Specialist (Broughton) pieased by the easy manner in whiclx he was travelling alongsxde Eilature (Garth) over the concludiiig stages of half a mile run iu 55 4-5sec. The jumper Nanook (Aitken) coveredjive furlongs in 1.12. Over a similar distance Sten (Saunders) took 1.13. The former southerner Euzzy Wuzzy (Rout) was respousible for a pleasing disjxlay of fast jumping over six hurdles. Kiwi Pai (Buchanan) also shaped well over six hurdles. A candidate for the Tiri Hurdles at the Auckland' meeting on Saturday, Thuiulerhead left yesterday for Ellerslie. He will pVobably be ridden by J.
