Munro, Russia had uot been prominent in important races thia spring. Tlxe lxorse was plaeed belxind Cordale in the last Sydney Oup but rnet Cordale 19 lbs. better today. Cordale won the Metropolitan, showed goou form iu the Moonee Vaiiey Cup and was ahvays a favourite. Russia was at :x fairly long price. Begiuniug well, Russia was never further back thau fourth.
