MAN SEVERELY BURNT

CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 4. Severe burns were reeeived by Mr. Morton Stanley Gentles, married, aged 58 years, of Halswell, when the car he Vvas driving eollided with the Christ-church-Ashburton train on the Lincoln Road crossing shortly after 5 o'clock this evening. Overturned by the impact, the car, a small sedan, caught fire and the interior was burnt "out. Mr. Gentles, who was the sole occupant, was removed to hospital and this evening reported to be seriously ill.
