Professor John A. Allan, M.A. known to many in Levin, has been appointed principal of the Theological Hall of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, in succession to Principal S. F. Hudson, D.D. Dr. J. D. Salmond, of Dunedin, who is attending the general assembly of the Presbyterian Church at Wanganui, was the guest of Rev. A. Salmond at St. Andrew's Manse over the weekend. Rev. George F. A. Knight, M.A. (Hons.), B.D., minister of Ruchill Church, Glasgow, who is a distinguished Hebrew scholar and missionary of the Church of. England to Central Europe, has been appointed to the chair of Old Testament studies at the Theological Hall, Knox College, Dunedin. Rev. W. T. Blight, B.A., B.D , president of the Methodist Church of New Zealand, will visit Levin this week. He will be the guest speaker at the Methodist Church on Thursday evening. President Blight served with the New Zealand forces in World War I. He has been resident tutor of Trinity Theological College, Auckland, and is the author of several publications. At Levin he will speak on "Methodism in the New Zealand of tomorrow." Mr. and Mrs. Blight will be the ^ guests of Rev. and Mrs. H. S. Kings.
