ACCIDENT NEAR BLENHEIM

WELLINGTON, Nov. 3. Three adults and five children were injured in a Tevel crossing smash at Grovetown near Blenheim, about 6 p.m*. today. They are : — Mr. Maxwell John Murray, storekeeper, Blenheim. - Mrs. Martha Murray, his wife, Mrs. Emily Murray, aged about 70, his m other. ^Douglas Murray, aged about 12. Dianne Murray, about 13. Allison Liley, aged about 12. Patrick Curtis, aged about 12. ■ Mr. and Mrs. Murray 's nine weeks' old baby. The accident occurred on the crossing jnst south of the Grove: town. station wlien a train which, it is miderstood, was testing signal apparatus, coilided with Mr. Murray 's car and overturned it on the driver 's side. People nearby rushecl to give assistance and extricated the passengers. A doetor and ambulanee were' quickly on tlie* seene. The three' adults and four children were admitted to the Wairau hospital, Mrs. Emily Murray sufferecl a broken right leg and her, condition is serious. Mrs Martha Murray has head and arm injuries. Mr. Murray has head injuries. Douglas Murray also has head injuries and his condition is serious. Dianne Murray had bofb bones of her lower right leg broken. Patrick Curtis suffered a fractured eollarbone and shoulder hlade. The baby had severe bruises while Allison Liley ese.aped wifh bruises.
