SYDNEY, Nov. 3. The fornial operation of essential services at Christnias may be jirevented if coal losses tlirough stoppages continue, warns the Commonwealtli Coal C'ommissioner, Mr. H. Williarns. Last week's losses totalled 40,210 tons, the higliest since the middle of August. They nullified anv bencfits gained from the Saturday shil'ts institnted by the northern miners to lielp increase coal rcserves.
