Received Monday, 11.55 a.m. BOMBAY, Nov. 4. The police fired nine times in widely separated areas ^today. It is officially stated the situation took a turn for the worse. Fiftytour were arrested, and two killed and fifteen wounded by stabbing. Fifty were killed and 75 injured when a crowd attacked a large gathering of refugees waiting for a train at Taregua station, 19 miles from Patna, reports Reuter's correspondent. The station was badly damaged. British troops arrived at Patna yesterday. The Viceroy, Lord Wavell, carried out an aerial tour of the riotous areas in Eastern_Bengal. He interviewed many Hindu and Moslem leaders in connection with the disturbances. The Daily Telegraph's correspondent says that Lord Wavell's visit has established that there has been a gross exaggeration in the number of deaths during the disturbances, and in the present state of Eastern Bengal generally.
