PARAPARAUMU NOTES
(From "Chronicle" Codrespondent) Labour Day weekend was a decided mixture of good and bad weather. Saturday morning was interspersed with very heavy rain showers. The Paraparaumu Girl Guides had just started a saies table when down came a particularly heavy shower, and they had t'O1 auish. for- cover 4n • a disused garage, where, true to their traditions, they soon had their saies table under way again and did a brisk business. At Raumati South the Presbyterian Church held a flower show and sale of work. Many fine blooms were exhibited and the show was well pati'onised, while as the result of the sale of goods a splendid sum of money will enrich church funds. A dance was conducted in the dug-out for the entertainment of the young people. Labour Day, though rather cold, was fine, and there were plenty of holiday-makers about at the various hepches. The bowling greens were woll patronised. A now mail delivery has begun in all parts of ihe district and each homestead now is msfked by its mail box, with its owner's name thereon.
