SALES TAX SURPLUS.-
Received Thursdav, 9.35 ]i.m. UANBERRA, Oct. 31. The saies tax yielded £5, (100, 000 more than exjiected during 1945/4(5 when the actual revenue totalled £33,(501), 000. It is understood the surplus will be used ty make reductions in saies tax to the public, particularly in clothing. Draft proposals to this ell'ect will 'be submitted to the new Uabinet on Tuesday.
