OLD FARMER AND HIS MONEY

Reeeived Friday, 12.25 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 31. Tbe General Post 0ffi.ee reports that an old fanner entered a Post Offi.ce in Cardiganshire and handed a hucketful of money to the clerk, remarking: "There is £1000 for the Bank and National Savings." The clerk counted the money and found only £900. The farmer asserted that he had counted the money that morning and was sure it was £1000. The clerk recounted the money and still made it £900. The farmer was unconvinced and the clerk was ahout to hand him the money for checking when the farmer had a hrainwave and said: "The wife has given me the wrong bucket."
