WANGANUI, Oct. 30. Drinking and gambling among tlie Maoris were tivo of the saddest things he knew of among his own people, said a Maori elder. Kihoro Te Puawlie, of Waihohau, wlien addressing the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, liere today.
