gooseberries bring record PRICiES Messrs. Townsend and Paul, Ltd., fruit and produce merchants, Wellington, report that gooseberries made their appearance this week and sold at record figures. Plums are now coming forward in larger supplies, while hothouse tomatoes have sold readily . Tree tomatoes and passionfruit and all citrus have also been sought. In spite of larger quantities of flowers coming to hand, values have'firmed considerably upon those obtaining last period. Most varieties of vegetables have also been in demand in spite of larger quantities offering, asparagus, cucumbers, carrots, eauliflowers, beetroot and pump-
kins- being in particuiariy Keen enquiry. Poultry saies have again been well attended, prime birds realising flrm figures.
